Food Parcel Project

Food Parcel Project

We have launched the Winter Food Parcel project after Luton was named as the second worst impacted town in the UK from COVID. There has been a dramatic increase in the number of people who have been made redundant and this has meant hundreds of households across the town are struggling to feed their families.

Our emergency food parcels contain flour, pulses, cereals, spices, fruit and vegetables as well as other staples to ensure families can cook healthy and nutritious meals for their families each week. The parcels come in different sizes to minimise waste and ensure everyone has enough.

The parcels cost £40 for an individual, £100 for a family of 4 up, £140 for a family of 6 and £160 for a family of seven or more. We estimate that we will be distributing around 70 parcels a week to families and individuals (40 families and 30 individuals)

Since June 2020 we have provided over 45,000 meals and supported 691 families and 717 individuals across Luton, a massive thank you to DEFRA, Bedfordshire Luton Community Foundation and National Lottery COVID Fund for enabling us to run this project through the summer and winter.
